The Pope Video 07-2017 – Those distant from the Christian faith – July 2017
July 2017. The Pope Video. We all know someone close to us who has grown distant from the faith. Let us help them to live the joy of Jesus and pray with the Pope that they might rediscover the beauty of the Christian life.
“Let us never forget that our joy is Jesus Christ — his faithful and inexhaustible love.
When a Christian becomes sad, it means that he has distanced himself from Jesus.
But then we must not leave him alone! We should offer him Christian hope — with our words, yes, but more with our testimony, with our freedom, with our joy.
Let us pray that our brothers and sisters who have strayed from the faith, through our prayer and witness to the Gospel, may rediscover the beauty of the Christian life.”
The Church and Marian apparitions – Vatican Connections
In this final episode of the season, renowned Vatican journalist John Thavis is on the show to talk about how the Church approaches supernatural phenomena and, more specifically, Marian apparitions. In light of the Holy Father’s pilgrimage to Fatima last May, we also delve into the complexity of Medjugorje. But that’s not all we talk about in this episode. Lots happened at the Vatican this week: the Pope celebrated his episcopal anniversary, the Church received five new cardinals, and Cardinal George Pell returns to Australia to face charges of “historical” sexual abuse offences.

Find Your Spirituality Type

What draws you into a fuller and richer spiritual life may be very different from the pull felt by another faith-filled person on his or her spiritual journey toward a deeper relationship with God.
